Woke Ms. Monopoly gives female players more money than the men

By

Hasbro is introducing Ms. Monopoly – a twist on the classic game – where female players earn more than male players. For the first time, the game will feature a new mascot (Ms. Monopoly) on its cover.

The story: Unlike the traditional board game, female players will collect $240 when they pass go, while men will collect the usual $200. Hasbro called it "a fun new take on the game that creates a world where women have an advantage often enjoyed by men. But don't worry, if men play their cards right, they can make more money too."

The company explained in the statement that “while Mr. Monopoly is a real-estate mogul, Ms. Monopoly is an advocate whose mission is to invest in female entrepreneurs,” Fox Business reported.

According to Hasbro's senior director for marketing, the new version aims to “recognize and celebrate the many contributions women have made to our society and continue to make on a daily basis.”

Reactions: But while the new version of the game is aimed at celebrating women, some women are objecting.

“Wait, is Ms. Monopoly implying that women can’t win a game of Monopoly unless they have an unfair advantage?” wrote one Twitter user, according to MarketWatch. “How dare you insult women this way. They are just as capable of winning a game of Monopoly as any male player.”

"Hasbro is perpetuating victimhood through a board game. They’re instilling in young girls that society views them ‘less than’. The pay gap comes from PERSONAL CHOICES made by women.... and they’re calling this game ‘female empowerment’" another user tweeted.
